Interesting article. I

Interesting article. I guessed it would be widly known that the Catholic Church has supported a lot of fascist or quasi-fascist regimes.

I think South American and the history of Spain under Generallismo Franco make good examples out of that Catholofascism. (Acutally better ones than the entaglements between the Catholic Church and Nazi Germany).

When you see how many fascist regimes found support by the Catholic Church you might start to think that the fundamentals of fascism Pope Benedict learned as a former member of the Hitlerjugend (Hilter Youth) aren't as much a disgrace to him, but more a prerequiste for the job.

Who asks me inappropiate questions also has to live with the answers I may give.

It makes a perfect twisted

It makes a perfect twisted sense. The only sure way for religious concepts to hold sway against scientific discovery is to create an environment where the people need to band together to survive, and survival takes enough effort that education is a secondary concern at best. In such an environment, religion is the perfect tool to facilitate banding together. By supporting fascism, they ensure their own survival as its opponent.
