Get a haircut, hippie!
Yeah, I've done it. About a month ago, actually. 40 cm of hair, and they're suddenly gone. So much of memories, caretaking and bad hair days.
There is an interesting story behind that. I was still at work at the time. One co-workeress was apparently a medium, psychic, or whatever. She foretold me the future. Among other things, she said, that she saw me in a vision and a middle-aged man in some office, and with short hair. I loved my hair at the time, and I could imagine no way that could happen. Maybe in 10 years or so. Also, unlike you'd guess, I don't trust the most of mediums and psychics very much and I don't believe in unchangeable foretold future.
My hobby is a self-development. There is hardly any self-improving effort exotic enough to scare me away...well, maybe sports. After doing a lot of esoteric meditation, obscure psychotherapies (as one of participants), mental catharsis, getting fired, and other such an activities we New Age infectees do, I've changed. Well, my IRL self changed. There is still a lot of work ahead, on making this specimen of Homo an outstanding member of the society. The important thing is to persevere in the effort.
Besides that most obvious change, the hair, I've thrown away a lot of old stuff and I will continue in this trend. I'll have eventually 16 birth and non-birth marks cut out in total, which will be quite a massacre. Perhaps I changed the picture too soon. If you won't notice me posting anything tomorrow, the writing on my T-shirt may not be so true.

Seriously, you look fine with short hair, and if you get tired of it grow it back to your original length...you've always got options.
My own hair texture sucks so I just use my electric clippers and give myself a mental institution haircut....you know, a buzz cut. Simple to perform, and nothing to mess with. My hair is turning silver now that I'm middle-aged....that kind of freaks me out, heh heh.
Good luck with all your self improvement projects.
