By any other name...

I'm torn between what is better or worse on this subject...

http://www.ucanews.com/2010/01/05/islamic-party-approves-christian-use-of-allah/

The logical side of me is saying "Look, all christians, jewish and muslims are from the same god, the god of Abraham. So what is the fraking difference what name you use?"

The other side of me is saying, "The christians are merely trying to use trickery to get a "foot in the door" on their conversion techniques. They want to use "word association" to get non-christians to think that their religion is the same as muslims. But at the same time, once they get their foot in the door using this word, then they can drive a wedge between the two beliefs".

I don't doubt if the

I don't doubt if the Christians are using the word for it's appeal, however, I can't help but think that anyone should be able to use that word however they want.  It's not special in the least.  Of course, the ridiculous thing is that Malaysia has replaced a law banning use by non-Muslims with a law allowing use by non-Muslims with reserve; they're not actually making speech any more free.  I don't know how to respond to this other than to point that out.  Either way it's absurd.

I would also point out that

I would also point out that Lebanese Christians have used the word "Allah" for thousands of years considering it's the Arabic word for "God"

,.,.,.,.

It's literally islam being islam. We can make the rules and 'allow' you to use 'our' word.

The more the World allows the OIC and other groups of that type to set the standard (like the recent U.N. motion on blasphemy that only mentioned islam as a source of blasphemous attacks) the more aggrandized islam becomes and the more radical its adherents get.
