look, as a married man who

look, as a married man who quite honestly has regrets now and then (doesn't mean i don't love my wife, but i can't say i wouldn't do things differently if i could turn back the clock), no other person is worth your unhappiness, period.  if she won't take you just as you are now, let her go.  otherwise, it will end up in co-dependency.  trust me.

"I have never felt comfortable around people who talk about their feelings for Jesus, or any other deity for that matter, because they are usually none too bright. . . . Or maybe 'stupid' is a better way of saying it; but I have never seen much point in getting heavy with either stupid people or Jesus freaks, just as long as they don't bother me. In a world as weird and cruel as this one we have made for ourselves, I figure anybody who can find peace and personal happiness without ripping off somebody else deserves to be left alone. They will not inherit the earth, but then neither will I. . . . And I have learned to live, as it were, with the idea that I will never find peace and happiness, either. But as long as I know there's a pretty good chance I can get my hands on either one of them every once in a while, I do the best I can between high spots."

I wouldn't tend to do

I wouldn't tend to do anything.  Move on?

But then, I shy away from drama.  If a girl goes all crazy about something, that's generally the last time I want to talk with her.

You can find one less hysterical.

EDIT:  What iwbiek said.  When I was a wee lad, my father re-married to a bitch... I got to watch from an [initially] unbiased position as the whole thing unfolded.  Not wanting to end up in a similar position is why I pretty much cease contact at the first sign of that kind of emotional instability.

It's simple...

Enjoy the good times with her that you can, and if the drama becomes too much, call it off. As a VERY outspoken person, I tend to eventually offend EVERY chick I date, and as a person who hates all things drama, relationships don't go very well for me...

Oh well.

So, if you can have good times with her, you care about her and she cares about you, enjoy what time you can have with her, but don't expect anything else. If it's something about "your attitude" then it looks like it's doomed, but that doesn't mean it has to end badly.

No matter what... good luck dude! We're all wishing you the best!

Are you sure about this? I don't think I have ever met a girl that is not way more emotional than I am. I have just come to accept that this is a compromise I have to make in order to have relationships.

Then again, I am only 19 years old.

edit: to answer the OP's question. Emotions are very dynamic feelings, so if she broke it off because she is angry, it is not over.

I don't understand why the Christians I meet find it so confusing that I care about the fact that they are wasting huge amounts of time and resources playing with their imaginary friend. Even non-confrontational religion hurts atheists because we live in a society which is constantly wasting resources and rejecting rational thinking.

Yes, they run in a spectrum from expressing the hysteria, to bottling it up and not dealing with it (usually serious emotional issues)- the latter are the "ice queens".

The hysteria itself, though, varies... there's the interpersonal hysterical rage to intrapersonal hysterical rage.

Some will take it out on you, and some (usually the "emo" type) will just blame themselves and feel miserable- possibly cut themselves or commit suicide.

I like the second better, but not by much- mostly because they don't yell so much.  They do cry quite a bit, though.  And I don't like being on suicide watch.

I tend to go for the Ice queens over either... but there are really, phenomenally rare cases where those "ice queens" who bottle it up have realized that it's not healthy, and either have therapy, or have other ways of dealing with it- the psychologist types who sound like a living self-help book.

I like the walking, talking, self-help book girls- somebody who is actually taking control of her emotions and dealing with them properly (even though it sounds silly sometimes).

The others are *capable* of doing this self-help thing, but they won't (or almost never will).

The self loathing ones don't believe they deserve to get better, and the you-loathing ones think you deserve what you get when you get it.  Capable, yes- willing, no.

That is, in my experience.

OP:  Where do you live where she's the only atheist girl you know?

Go to Las Vegas... Find

Go to Las Vegas... Find yourself some lovely, yet morally casual young ladies... break as many commandments as you can...Then find someone willing to allow you to use the small of their back as the canvas for your modern art masterpiece...

While your doing this, consider spending the rest of your life sharing one set of genetalia...and decide whether you're better off leaving a DNA trail all over nevada, or being like the rest of married world, hoping to exchange that moment in time when they muttered the words "I DO" for the starring role in an Al Queda behading video

(just a thought)

hahahahaha.....sorry about

hahahahaha.....sorry about that advent...have fun with her, all I can say is that personally I would be gone, but then again I don't have issues with women and their religion in my area of the woods. However I have dealt with emotional women (not saying all women are emotional....just some that I have unfortunately dated) I have learned to just walk away. But then again I am simply getting just a bit of the story from you, not the whole thing.

Me too, it's why I've not

Me too, it's why I've not been seen nor heard of for the better part of six months. I've been living on my best friend's sofa until a few weeks ago.

I wouldn't worry about it. Either she'll come around or she won't, but there's no point trying to 'change your attitude' or any other nonsense pretending to be something you're not. Having spent the last few years trying to change my attitude without success, I can tell you that it will do you no good at all.

On the plus side (for me), looks like there might be a someone else in the offing (if the hickey I woke up with the other day is anything to go by), and me and the ex are quite good friends now, so there's hope.

Don't worry about it, I

Don't worry about it, I think real women will be obsolete soon:

And they are even better able to think for themselves than theists!
