The Rational Response Squad is a group of atheist activists who impact society by changing the way we view god belief. This site is a haven for those who are pushing back against the norm, and a place for believers of gods to have their beliefs exposed as false should they want to try their hand at confronting us. I've always liked David Rovics, and I'm pleased other people here do too. I have a few ideas that go along with the "revolutionary music" theme.
This is the Infernal Noise Brigade at the RNC in 2004. They got their start at the WTO in '99. I actually got arrested when they were playing at a 2 year anniversary of the WTO demo in Seattle, but that's a different story.
Another band allied with them was TchKung. If you listen to none of the other videos, listen to this one. TchKung is one of my favorite bands, and the only one to my knowledge to ever be banned from Bumpershoot (Seattle music festival) for LIFE! The video I found uses their song "Smash Things Up!" but it's an independently made video of some people. Just wanted to reiterate the video was not made by TchKung.
This second TchKung song is "Chao-Wera" and there is footage on that video of their show. I tried to find their song "Solidarity" but I couldn't find it anywhere. Their live shows were INTENSE!!!
Here's one by Jim Page, another folk singer who has played with David Rovics in the past.
This one is Jim Page and Artis the Spoonman (of Soundgarden fame) at the Pike Place Market. I'm so happy I grew up in this town and got to grow up with this kind of stuff as a normal thing.
And this one is about Leonard Peltier and the song goes by the same name.
And here's Propagandhi. No thread about revolutionary music would be complete without them. The first song is off their new album "Supporting Caste".
The next song is called "Die Jugend Marschiert" and is about the recruitment of youth into the military."
And to finish it off, Propagandhi's song "The only good fascist is a very dead fascist."
"This may shock you, but not everything in the bible is true." The only true statement ever to be uttered by Jean Chauvinism, sociopathic emotional terrorist.
"A Boss in Heaven is the best excuse for a boss on earth, therefore If God did exist, he would have to be abolished." Mikhail Bakunin
"The means in which you take,
dictate the ends in which you find yourself."
"Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government! Supreme leadership derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony!"
No Gods, No Masters!
I have seen all the videos. INB are outstanding, I know them. TchKung are.. different, first time listening to them - they sound like they would be interesting to know . Jimmy Page and finally Propagandhi
- awesomely on the spot
Logic is a systematic method of coming to the wrong conclusion with confidence.
Then you know a little of TchKung. Filastine from TchKung was one of the forming members of the INB. Those were some very interesting times... the parties and the demo's...
