Charity groups lie about name changes.
Over a few month period, including news today, I noticed what were historically sold as Christian charities are dropping the Christian references to their organizations.
Long before today's story about the YMCA changing it's name to "The Y", I noticed what used to be called Christian Children's Fund now with tv adds calling it's website and name simply "Children's Fund".
I cant say for sure, but this may be because there may be a trend that more and more people are giving less to religious Charities(not including local churches) but national and worldwide organizations.
It may be that these organizations are seeing that charity does not have to be religious based and in order to compete they may hide their religious side. I cant be sure that is what is actually going on, but it wouldn't surprise me considering that more and more people are seeing more options to Charity than religious.
A Humanist club where I live has adopted a beach, for example, and spent some time last month cleaning it up.
Just a guess, I may be reading too much into it, just saying it would not surprise me.

I don't mind if they're Christian charities as long as they use all or virtually all of their donated resources to help people rather than proselytize.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, | As I foretold you, were all spirits, and | Are melted into air, into thin air; | And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, | The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces, | The solemn temples, the great globe itself, - Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve, | And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, | Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff | As dreams are made on, and our little life | Is rounded with a sleep. - Shakespeare
Their mere presence is a form of proselytization. Plus they get to claim that every good deed they do on your dime is an act of God. Pushing your God on someone when he is in a vulnerable state (which anyone who needs charity is in) is an incredibly dishonest act. Giving money to a christian charity is in my opinion worse than giving money to a church.
I Am My God
The absence of evidence IS evidence of absence
And because they don't pay tax, their proselytising is being funded by everyone.
