It is for the I.P.S.M.S. system.

Internet Penis-Size Measurement System.

(They aren't really for anything, it is just another way to show how many posts a person has.  Some forums assign 'ranks' to a person based on their points level, this forum tracks points but doesn't do anything with them.)

Everything makes more sense now that I've stopped believing.

If you divide post count by

If you divide post count by join date you can figure out average posts per day.  You can use that number to extrapolate how likely a person is to lack a significant life outside of the Internet.

By my calculations, your life is not as pathetic as mine is.

Sad

Remember also that you get twice as many points for participating in a thread as you do for starting new threads.  So if your goal is to rack up a big score, then it works against you to come up with new ideas for us to discuss.

Actually, if memory serves, Brian was trying to work out some deal with one of his sponsors so that we could spend our scores with one of his sponsors.  I don't think he ever sealed that deal though.
