The Evolution of a God

A quick Exercise in Thought concerning Human Pride & the EVOLUTION OF A GOD:

First, you must acknowledge the Fact that according to the Fossil Record (& Forensics) Homo Sapiens sapiens has been living on Earth around 200,000 years. (Earth itself is 4.567 Billion years old according to Radiometric Dating, though "Moses" figured it to have been Created about 2600 years before Himself, making it only about 6000 years old by his reckoning)

Next, Hypothesize a large population of Humans living some 20,000 to 30,000 years ago that may have been decimated by some great Natural Disaster: Ice Age, Tidal Floods, Asteroid Impact, Earthquakes, Volcanoes, etc... (easy to comprehend, right?)...

Now envision a strong, perceptive, Human Leader emerging to guide the Surviving Remainder to safety (happens all the time)....

Now consider the probability that the Leader, amongst later generations, becomes Revered and Culturally Represented through Artwork, Song, & Story (like Celebrity Status!), and this continues until...

Fast forward 10,000 years and, voila!, Humanity has a "Deity"!
The Evidence: Preserved Artwork in Ancient Cave Systems. Consider some future Human Descendant, too many generations removed to be educated enough about the long-deceased Leader, stumbling upon the Ancient Stories & saying "This Ancient Civilization worshiped a Deity!" and the Stories begin anew, only with a much less Realistic Perspective....

There. The Evolution of a God, in the form of Ancestor Worship.

...the more you know... (cue music & rainbow)

Lol. Nice. I doesn't

Lol. Nice.

I doesn't necessarily have to take nearly that long though. See here.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, | As I foretold you, were all spirits, and | Are melted into air, into thin air; | And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, | The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces, | The solemn temples, the great globe itself, - Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve, | And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, | Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff | As dreams are made on, and our little life | Is rounded with a sleep. - Shakespeare
