Can someone teach me how not to be a coward when it comes to telling people I don't believe in God?

Can someone teach me how not to be a coward when it comes to telling people I don't believe in God?

I need to ramble some, but I have put in bold the parts that I hope others will read, and offer advice:

I'm a 28-year old man, and four years ago I went from being a Christian to an Atheist, now an Agnostic. I live in a pretty Christian area where I'm from, and sometimes I've had to tell people I am not a believer. Over the years, it's been easier to tell people I am Agnostic, but I always feel a little nervous beforehand, and have to quickly build up the nerve, and I still question the best way in going about in telling people, and I would prefer to do it in a way that is not so passive.

Sometimes I just ignore someone when they talk about God, or at the most, I tell them I'm not really a religious guy, but maybe I'll get back into it one day. To be honest - I would prefer just to say I'm Agnostic, and that's it, and avoid the desire to ramble anymore about it. And if I just have to say something to ease the tension, I'd like to say "But I keep an open-mind".

I use to hate confrontation, and I still do, but I will face confrontation if I need to. My motivation for being brave is the fact that I know if I am not brave, me being a coward will knaw on my mind later, and I'll forever replay it in my head, and never ever forgive myself, so in order to get peace, I know I sometimes have to be brave. I also know that I can win many battles with my mind and words alone, so those are my weapons.

(As much as I love my Mother, she is the reason why I was a coward for so long and even to this day, still am forever fighting with myself to be a man. But that's another issue, and I could really rant about that, so I'll stop. Really, I feel ashamed for this thread alone. It's not always easy asking for help, but this forum has for the most part been helpful and understanding, especially in regards of topics like these.)

One of the hardest things about being me is that I'm a nice guy. I admit, I use too be VERY passive, but since being in my mid-twenties to now, I am now passive-aggressive so I like to think I am moving up some.

It's not just a case of me being a sissy by the way, but also the fact that I honestly do like being a nice guy, and don't enjoy offending others and prefer to live in peace. But I still would prefer to be a nice guy and just ignore rude people if able, but I know sadly that unless you play by the rules of others, that can't happen, and their rules may not be for you. One of the secrets I've learned is NEVER let others know you are scared/nervous, or you could be in trouble. I think people thinking I have mental issues is better then letting them know I'm acting like a chicken.

I know this much - I know am not a coward. I think everyone has their fears, and I've faced my different fears MANY times, and I think by admitting to this one and asking for help proves I have guts.

Alright, having said all that - What is the nicest way to tell someone I am Agnostic, but not coming across as poor soul who needs God? And do you think saying "I'm Agnostic" outloud to myself a few times would come in handy?

You mean like your god allowing or causing the Tsunami that killed 13,000 people?

So if we just kiss his ass more he wont beat us? Nice slave mentality you have.

Hi Zeeboe

Hi Zeeboe,

Oh real quick that is a logical fallacy of equivocation you just made there. In this world God does allow via causation but not the means of pain. Like the Japan thing and Haiti and you when you are thrown into a very deep.

But zeeboe, I wanted to respond to you. You definately sound like a sissy, i'd have to agree with you, at least you're honest. And you're an agnostic, so is everybody else on this site that says they have a lack of belief in God. They call that atheism via semantics but conceptually, its agnosticism. Sapient was public school "educated" evidently as a young lad

so his education and understanding of things are pretty nil.

The thing is Zee, is you are ashamed of being an agnostic. Chrisitans are proud of the Gospel but you are ashamed. Which i can understand that, it's a pretty shameful thing to embrace weak intellectual thinking and then you are a natural sissy to begin with. I assume you never had a father.

And your mother, is she a Chrisitan?

For whatever reason you are acting out of spite and rebellion against God, my advice would be to just grow up and get on your knees as pray. Ask God to give you understanding of who He is. To give you knowledge. And if He does, meaning, if you are one of the elect, then there you go.

Start and end on your kneeds Zee, and then repent. Only Chisitanity can give you boldness true undestanding.

Respectfully,

Bullshit, nothing happens that god does not want happening PERIOD! Otherwise from a semantic claim perspective IT MAKES  NO FUCKING SENSE.

This is just like the kid who blames his army men in the sandbox when he cant arrange them the way he wants. Your god concept reads like a fucking brat who throws a fit when he doesn't get what he wants.\

Please tell me oh wise one, why your super hero goes out of his way to make a Jerry Springer episode out of life when he has the power ALL POWERFUL, doesn't have to bring attention to drama or himself? Please tell me where the humility in his character is?

It is a bullshit concept merely reflecting your own selfish desires of wanting a super hero, nothing more.

Hi Brian

Hi Brian,

You do not understand. God allows the evil to be carried out by Satan. He does this for the purposes of judgement. Since God is perfectly righteous and is perfect in every way, when He does this it is righteous.

Instead of being angry, you should be humbled and fear God because if HE can do this to Japan, how much more can He and will He do to you?

But instead of fearing God you shake your fist at Him which is described in the Book of Revelation. When the false prophet spreads a very painful disease on the entire world, they shake their fist at God and ask stupid questions like you do Brian. So God keeps allowing Satan and His demons to inflict you more until you the point of no return Brian.

God is not responsible for this since there is nobody higher then Him to respond to.

You're asking the wrong question. The question you should be asking is how the hell to I allow God to show me mercy and to not inflict me with so much pain.

Regarding people like Jerry Springer lol and the horrific comedy of Rosie O'Donnal, He allows sinners to keep an account of their deeds. He is allowing them to stroke their pride and actions to add up for their individual bank account the sins they committ.

God holds all of up By His hand. He is holding you up from the pit of hell. The flames are engulfing you and are protested as of now by His mercy. But, when the time comes, and God removes His hand, the floor will open up and the flames that are so hungry to burn you will finally scorch you every second, of every day, of your life.

You're asking the wrong question you stupid man. lol.

NO FUCKING SHIT ASSHOLE! READ WHAT YOU JUST TYPED.

That would be like a parent knowing that the baby sitter is a molester and still allows them to baby sit the kid.

YOU ARE SUCH A FUCKING IDIOT

You'd hire a child molester to baby sit your kid and blame the kid for what the molester did.

Isiah 45:7 "I create good, I create evil, I the lord do all these things".

That is the mental garbage you use to justify clinging to such a horrible fantasy.

Hey Brian,

Brian,

The bottom line is that you continue to spout ignorance. You cannot comprehend (I Corinthians 1:14) very simple things. Satan is the one who is actually does the evil. The Scriptures stand while you brian, in your anger crumble.

Do you have any other questions I may educate you on.
