Of vision
Were observing
Today's advancement

Would he hold
To his proclamations
Of the whims
Of tradition he held then?

Questioning
Always seems
To get attacked
In favor of social norms

Pondering his prose
Gives me pause
To wonder how far
His inquiry would take him

I suspect like most
Adams would not be
Free from the shackles
He claimed we should shed

Threaten a deity
In any society
And that is where
Questioning ends

If a mirror
Were in front of him
Would he, could he
Challenge himself?

For our sake
Collectively
I hope so
It is why we left the caves.
