They tried to propose this sort of thing in Australia a few years ago and the backlash caused it to be put back on the shelf.
I can only hope that the British have the same reaction. The religious lobby seems to have got more powerful there though lately, with the Conservative government's support.
Ever so often the politicians in my city have to get into the headlines and yammer about how they are going to make sure that all adult entertainment is driven out of Memphis,TN. Well, it never happens. They make too much money of the sales of alcohol and the clubs to lose their revenue. The stupid churches that elect them fall for it every time though.
