Question for Creationists??
I have a serious question for creationists about the book of Genesis.
Where did Cain's wife come from??

do the research......The book of genesis clearly describes where Cain found his wife. This may have been the first inter-racial couple in history......lol

"inter-racial couple"? What an odd observation. Where in the bable does it say cain's wife was of a different race?
Oh and while you're at it, explain were this other "race" came from if adam and eve were the first humans.
People who think there is something they refer to as god don't ask enough questions.
Spare ribs? (sorry, I couldn't resist)

LOL!! Nice...
Actually she came from Taco Bell. She was working the late shift and when Cain left his family he met her on the road. So when he was expelled from his family and met her he got free mexican fast food the rest of his life.
Sorry, but this one is way over my head. Must be some Christian inside humor.
Let me read it again, but I am sure she just appears without explanation.

Hey, father, I need a wife.
Oh, come on cain, it's not like ribs grow on trees.
According to Genesis, Eve was created from Adam's rib. God must have found some spares somewhere. I wanted to work in something about pork to make it an explicit pun but nothing clevel came to mind.
Anyway, to answer your question, even though I suffer from the mind desease of theism, I don't believe the Genesis account of creation is accurate. So I would say that Cain's wife may have a monkey in her lineage.
BTW, as a theist, I find evolution elagant and beautiful. I consider it God's way of telling us: "Get off your high horse. You may be people now, but you used to be monkeys. Get over yourselves".

LOL. Now THAT'S funny!

Maybe the Jewish God only created the Jewish people i.e. Adam and Eve. That was one of the many things which never made any sense to me about Christianity. It's a little bit stupid.

Now that is hysterical. LOL. People do need to get over themselves. Forgot about the Eve and the Rib. So my question to you is, what parts of the bible to you determine to be true or not??
"Those who think they know don't know. Those that know they don't know, know."
LOL! I liked that one.
Keep up the good work, Ophios.

Not really sure yet. Ask me again in a few years.
I can give you some insight to how I think. Note this is not attempt to offer an argument, it is just conversation!
In biblical times, what was the consequence of immorality on health? Increased STDs etc. The laws of morality in the ancient world, if followed, actually accrued a benefit to the health of people. How did a bunch of uptight priests come up with this? Basically, back then, lifetime monogamy was the ONLY way to prevent STDs. But they had no scientifc method to PROVE this. How did they connect that screwing the temple prositutes could make your wife sterile? Revelation form God? Astute observation? A little of both? So, for me, there is some truth to the idea that people should practice lifetime monogamy. So I guess, for me at least, any truth in the bible has to have some correlation to what is real around me.

It's interesting how "god" suspended the problems of incest for Adam, Eve and their descendants. And then once again for all the billions of species on Noah's Ark. I guess there must have been A LOT of genetic mutation taking place to deal with the lack of genetic diversity. Oh... shit. That would mean evolution, and that's a no-no, since most creationists only recognize the detrimental mutations, not the ones that gradually improve the species.
Boy, you run into lots of exceptions to rules we're now aware of when you read the infallable word of "god." How weird!
Their theology actually accounts for this.
They believe that humanity was purer back in the days of Adam and Eve, which is why Adam lived to be a 1000 years and incest wasn't a problem. Adam's descendents were more sinful and the human race gradually deteriorated. It's all as the Bible says.
In reply to the original question:
Wasn't she from the land of Nod, East of Eden?
Yes, but from who's Uterus?? Or was she created with a rib?
"Those who think they know don't know. Those that know they don't know, know."
Maybe they were sinful because there was no new contributions to the gene pool?
Ooops, I forgot. Genes are the work of the devil.
"Those who think they know don't know. Those that know they don't know, know."
In fairness, the bible doesn't say that God didn't make any more people after Adam and Eve. I know it doesn't say tha he did either but this isn't one of the bible's major falling down points: A supernatural creator who can make one set of beings can quite easily make others.
A bigger 'fatal error' is in the repopulation of the Earth by Noah and his sons which is actually impossible given Bishop Usher's timeline.
Freedom of religious belief is an inalienable right. Stuffing that belief down other people's throats is not.
