We all know about the Jena Six problems, but some of us do not know about the background of Jena. And it will shock those that think non religious people are the ones that are uneducated, poor, racist, and violent.

Anyway, is it 12% of the town is attending college (which doesn't seem a terrible stat too me), or only 12% of the town has attended college?
Not too sure on that one, they also said that if you passed 6th grade in that town, that is about as far as you go ussually...

Psychological studies show that the more religiously orthodox someone is (i.e. fundy) the more authortarian leanings they have. No surprise racists have strong authortarian leanings. Religion is naturally about excluding those who don't belong to the clique. Protestants think Catholics are going to hell, Catholics think Protestants are going to hell, and they all think the Muslims and Atheists are going to hell all because the "others" are immoral infidels worthy of eternal torture.
With that sort of mind set in fundies it's no surprise that a bunch of White fundies will display the same attitudes with those of a different skin color.
