I was watching a (presumably satirical) redubbing of old Saturday morning cartoons to give them a nice conservative bent... which I hope was supposed to be funny and ridiculous.

 Anyway, the phrase "get out of jail free card" came up with reference to abortion and I've heard that in actual political discussion. I realized that this implies that these people (who use that phrase) see parenthood as a punishment.

I think the last thing that should be done is forcing someone to raise a child, in that you generally end up with pretty un-happy children and likely very unhappy adults.
