Hi,
I guess this means he lost his battle against his sickness; I can't believe it. He was always such a calming and comic presence on the forums. I'll miss him, even though I've never him.
I'm sorry for your loss.
Well, if there is some form of afterlife that you can see this post from right now: how's it going, IAGAY? You were god after all, as god as anything can be.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, | As I foretold you, were all spirits, and | Are melted into air, into thin air; | And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, | The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces, | The solemn temples, the great globe itself, - Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve, | And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, | Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff | As dreams are made on, and our little life | Is rounded with a sleep. - Shakespeare
We have been worried for
We have been worried for IAGAY for some time. I'm really sorry for his passing, and for what it's worth, I considered him a kindred (if not quite so coherent) soul (in the very atheist sense of the word). I particularly liked the fact that I could not stump him with a music reference.
My condolences on your loss.

This is very sad news.
This is very sad news. IAGAY was genuinely a good person, and I personally will miss him deeply, even though I only knew him through his posts here. I had been wondering where he was. I guess he was sick.
Well, maybe I'll memorialize him by riffing on his ideas:
Mark, your body is gone, but your memory lives on in us. We are god as you were/are. God is dead. Long live god(s)! God/Mark in me says hi to all the gods/Marks in you fellow RRS folks! See? I'm still here! God is an atheist, s/he has no gods above him/her. Jesus may or may not have been a cool dude who taught that we are all gods, and Muhammad was a crazy dude who taught that that there is no god but All-of-us. It all got messed up in translation to dogma books! Throw down the dogma, and pick up some Dawkins, Dennett, Hitchens, and Harris, and rediscover your god-hood... it's almost as fun as your wo/manhood!
Make love, not relig-insanity!
God/Mark says: May the RRS spread god's atheism to the whole world. Don't worry, I'll be back!

Damn, I read the post first
Damn, I read the post first while somewhat distracted, so first read it as IAGAY telling us about someone else who had died. I guess I had got too accustomed to IAGAY's style which didn't always make sense on first reading... and I wasn't familiar with his real name. That is a shame, I hope his departure was relatively gentle/painless... I will certainly miss his unique personality and outlook as it came across on these forums.

IAGAY was a very considerate person to all of us here. He was the very first to welcome me to the RRS. He always complemented my posts and thanked us for being here to address the craziness of the god of Abe believers. Your friend Mark may be gone but we will remember him and his uniter force. I need to get a bottle of rum so I can properly wish him my best. We have missed his music posts which he would insert appropriately in threads.
Heres to you friend one of my favorite songs you posted:
Then there was his love of women which he expressed in many ways:
One of his requests he always wanted was a GOD badge which he asked for several times. Sapient or the mods I would suggest you give him a GOD badge as tribute to his dedication to the RRS.
So here's to Mark/I AM GOD AS YOU, Yeah god rocks, and always remember the god of abe sucks!!!! Fuck that god!!!!!!! What an asshole that god is!!!!!!

IAGAY was one of my favorite posters. His earnestness and wry wit made every thread in which he posted more entertaining. From him naming his band after various members of RRS (including me once! Huzzah!), to his Dr. Bronners-like wisdom: I miss him.

The rum's gone.
I don't know if IAGAY was afraid of dying or not, but he certainly wasn't at all afraid of living. It's hard to find people like that.
Peace, Mark.
Dude; if there's an afterlife, you and I both know that IAGAY will be waay too busy chasing some ethereal booty and drinking ethereal rum to come and read about our silly condolences.

I will not mourn after him, because this is what I believe we both would want (not) to do. He was one of the most enlightened people I had ever seen. He already knew by direct experience, what I still only think about in mere words. I'm sorry to say it post mortem, but I waited for him to appear, which is not possible anymore. He always spoke out of my soul. Though he wasn't that kind of a person, he expressed the same truths I know as esotericism and he always could proclaim them most adequately, much better than me. Wherever IAGAY is, I'm sure he won't get lost there.

I'm really sorry to hear this; I had missed him before, but now I will miss him even more knowing that he won't come back again. I must remember to have an extra drink for him next time I get a chance, and an extra two for his Jesus/Buddha.
My sincerest condolences to you.

Here's a kiss for you Mark. Rest in peace.

Oh for fucks sake.
This really makes me sad. Mark always had a kind word to say even though it was always stuck in the middle of other 'stuff'.
He and I PM'd quite a bit on here, most recently was his explanation for his absence:
I will miss his style...
I believe he lived a rich life full of drink, girls and all the experiences a person could want - I can imagine he made the most of all he did.

I was litteraly just thinking about IAGAY yesterday, now I come and find this. I confess I often skipped his posts, it could be too hard deciphering them. However I truely liked him. He always had a kind and encouraging comment and defused terse situations. I like to think of him as a RRS father figure. He will be missed.

Anyone who can endure my fangs and still be willing to duke it out with me deserves my kudos. I never liked IAGAY's ambiguous claims of what the nature of the universe was, or what a god was, any more than any other new ager, if one could call him that.
BUT he always understood us in that in that we were merely debating and fighting irrational claims and never took us personally. I will miss him for that.
I hope the theists reading this can take a lesson from IAGAY. He took us on, withstood the scrutiny and hung in for the ride.

I haven't had much time to post lately but I still scan the posts occasionally. Sad to hear of Mark's (glad to finally know his name) passing, I always looked forward to reading his posts and will miss them very much. Very sorry for your loss. I also was wondering why I hadn't seen anything from him lately. May his memory live on.

Sad news
It is always unexpected and too soon. I certainly will miss Marks midnight rants, and his many music URLs. I have a Rolodex next to my PC here with all my user names and passwords. My daughters have their instructions on closing out my accounts. Is this a bad idea? I miss IAGAY. His picture is good looking. Thanks for posting.

I think it is a great idea. If I had someone I could trust enough to give my passwords and account names to, I would. Death is ever present, and it'd be at least a small comfort to know that people wouldn't be wondering why I'd disappeared should it catch up to me. It's probably the thing that bothers me most about dying, that I'd be unable to let people know why I'd disappeared.
