Kirk Cameron

Why did he convert to Christianity? He's holding his faith in absolute vain, in my humble opinion, if he believes his god is omniscient as it says in the bible. He might not have tried the blasphemy challenge or said it out loud but the fact that he was an Atheist means that he had had his doubt in the existence of the holy spirit and that one single factor gives his god a plausible reason to send Kirk to hell. So, if he thinks he's smart enough to fool his god to think that his at least subconscious denial in the existence of holy spirit, his god, I believe, should be pretty stupid and not quite omniscient as the bible says and a lot of Christians believe him to be. So, ironically, Kirk's faith in god, the guy floating around up there, is rather insulting to god, which shows the absolute nonsense the religion bears.

Meh, just a thought.

Oh, I'm new to RRS so I watched Atheist Face-off just now. It confirmed me with the fact that evangelical Christians are always a good source of entertainment.

I answered the question of why he converted in my initial blog. Just ctrl-F for 'BELIEVE' (in CAPS) since you're probably too lazy to read the whole thing.

Well, since it's Saturday afternoon here, I had a lot of time I could spend on reading your blog. And I did, including all its threads. Nice analysis. And I guess you won, since I didn't get to get paid by reading the whole thing, although the amount of time I put into reading your blog was probably far lot less than the amount of time you put into writing it. Whether your intention of calling me lazy was to insult me, which I don't specifically find very attractive nor so very understandable, or to increase the number of people who read your blog that you put much time into, you have succeeded. Congratulations. Have a nice day.

 Kirk's explanation for

Kirk's explanation for why he converted is that soon after attending a church service with a friend, he was suddenly struck with the

thought that if he died just then without

repenting of his sins, he would go to hell.   So he made a

quick conversion to ensure his place in heaven.  He was seventeen at the time and described himself as a 'devout' atheist.  I don't know how 'devout' an atheist you can be at seventeen.  It's taken me a great deal of thought and a fair bit of difficulty in ridding myself of deep seated superstitions instilled since early childhood.  It still upsets me a little to be told I'm going to hell, even though I don't logically believe that such a place exists.  I suspect Kirk hadn't really thought much about his religious stance, declared himself an atheist for want of a better word, and when confronted with old fears, succumbed to them.  And, of course, previously being a former 'devout' atheist, does look good on your Christian cv, especially when witnessing to atheists.

I've read different things about the sin of blasphemy.

According to a priest on youtube, you will be forgiven

provided you repent before you die.  So maybe Kirk

hasn't done his dash afterall.

Sorry about the uneven line spacing.  The wrap around

doesn't seem to work sometimes.

Maybe he just needed a new career path like the guy from Charles in Charge who became Bible Man.  Access to so many young, fresh boys.
