Message from MySpace
From: GRAYDOGAlex You will have a different perspective on another day. When you are older and have children of your own. Keep an open mind, even if it means to believe in something you can't see ,like the wind. graydog
Here was my first response:
From: ♫Alex♫Different perspective on what, pray tell?
I knew what he was talking about, but I wanted to see if he responded. He didn't so I sent him another message. I really hate hit and run messaging. It really grinds my gears, especially if they are from Theists trying to convert me.
From: ♫Alex♫Look if all you're going to do is message and then not reply, then don't bother. I won't change my mind about god. Will you? I think not. Instead of leaving a hit and run message to try and convert me, do something useful like taking care of your dogs. How would you like it if an Atheist sent you a message saying you should stop believing and be an Atheist. I wonder really, do you go around looking for Atheists on myspace trying to make them change their minds? Because it's not going to work, especially when you compare god to wind. On windy days you can feel the wind, can't you. I'm sure you'll say that you've felt god. Good for you. I use to believe in god but I got better, most Atheists used to be Theists. And you can try your best to try and convert us, but it won't work. I don't want to fight or argue. But you're the one that sent the first message. You probably don't want to debate (which is not the same as fighting or arguing about something), if so, then why bother sending a message in the first place? I see from your profile you love America, guess what? So do we Atheists. Now, I'm not saying that you're thinking that Atheists are less patriotic but most Theists will say so. I hope that we can have a civilizied discussion about this. If not, then I ask you to never again message an Atheist about changing their 'perspective'. You're not going to get anywhere.
I'll let you know if he responds. I pray to the FSM he does......
UPDATE: 9/13/2007
He never responded. He did read the messages though. I don't know why they even bother.

A very similar message --ie,
A very similar message --ie, "you should really be open to the possibility"-- was sent to me recently by a family member. Good stuff.
I actually blogged it:

Seriously. If there were to
Seriously. If there were to be a god then we'd be better off (assuming the god of Christianity is the true god). Atleast we didn't choose one god over another.
Don't know if you checked his page but he has a Dubya fansite as his friend....And that fansite is friends with an Ann Coulter fansite, so there's no hope for them. So sad
Ann Coulter... yikes.
