Stripper Evangelism and Hookers for Jesus...A New Breed of Prosyletizers

While still preachy and just as ridiculous, this new style of evangelizing of JC's Girls, is at least more pleasing to the eye than the likes of Pat Robertson and his kind. Heather Veitch is "a former stripper that reaches out to women working in the sex industry with the unconditional love of Jesus Christ." She has a website called JC's girls where she goes out in Vegas trying to save the souls of people on the street, hookers, strippers, and others associated with the sex industry. She does this with her friend, "Annie Lobért Hookers for Jesus in a joint media project entitled, “Saving Sex City.” They have been hitting the streets of Las Vegas to share their love of Jesus with everyone."

I really wonder what this movie is like? Do they actually reach people and draw them into their church on a regular basis? Here is a bit of their street evangelism.

The best quote in this one(at 4:38) is "I prayed for her that God would protect her and I told her, "you know Jesus used to hang out with prositutes, and he cares for us so much" and even though she's working(as a hooker) he still cares for us. Then she started crying, and it was good."

Here is another clip of her promoting herself on the Christian Broadcast Network and telling her story.

While I am glad that these girls got out of what seemed to be a negative, downward spiral as a result of the dangerous business ventures and personal choices they made, their emptiness unfortunately has been filled by a well-known imaginary friend. The sense of community, acceptance, and friendship of the church changed their lives, not Jesus or God.

Is this a case of a church being a positive influence on the lives of these women, or is it merely religion filling the personal void in a person's life when they hit bottom?
