In a world trying feverishly to ignore and hate God, I see no flaw in him being the gentleman and granting that request to be disinvolved in humanity's problems.

I must point out how ignorant you sound. I do not try to ignore God. I do not hate God. I do not believe that God exists. I have contemplated my beliefs, in conjunction with my knowledge of science, for hours on end. I have lain in bed at night thinking of God. When I peer into the microscope to study an ancienct bacteria, I am thinking of how it arose. If God does exist and chooses to punish me for using my reason, science, logic and education to deduce his non-existence, he is evil.
"Physical reality” isn’t some arbitrary demarcation. It is defined in terms of what we can systematically investigate, directly or not, by means of our senses. It is preposterous to assert that the process of systematic scientific reasoning arbitrarily excludes “non-physical explanations” because the very notion of “non-physical explanation” is contradictory.
