I played the mp3 "Theism is Irrational" to a Jehovah's Witness today. She wouldn't listen to the whole thing. She said that her lack of faith was making her not want to get out of bed already and she was too tired to talk about rationality. ( :

Losing one's faith can be a life-shattering experience. In one fell swoop you lose your omnipotent personal friend, hope for an afterlife, your reason for living and in many cases, friends and family. The more atheists who come out of the closet, the less this will sting. These people need some support if they're going to be that honest with themselves. Rebuilding your life, post-religion, is a huge task.
My 2 cents.
Books on atheism, purchases on Amazon support the Rational Response Squad server.

With the JWs, they will be ordered to ignore her completely if she's baptized and decides to leave. She could lose her whole structure of friends and family, so I'd try and help her see she has other friends who don't love her conditionally.
There are many sites that could show her the religion she's in is just a brainwashing cult. Ask if she knew the JWs were involved with the UN, that they predicted Armageddon in 1975 (and various other years before that) or if she is aware of their outrageous rule regarding two witnesses being needed before a child's claim he/she has been sexually abused will even be considered (within the religion, police are avoided when possible).
I can help you out if you like, that's the mindfuck I was raised in.

She has already been disfellowshipped. She married an outsider and maybe something more too. Now she's torn between humbly going back to JW or buying into the Jesus' name types.
I feel sorry for her. She constantly feels guilty for having normal human thoughts and emotions and spends alot of time praying for stuff to occur. She believes if she's humble enough and prays hard enough that she will become perfect. (so when it doesn't work she gets to feel guilty about being normal and not being humble enough...etc.)
I will ask her if she wants some info. Thanks.
Yeah, I bet.
I don't think this one is in danger of losing her faith. She has an uncanny ability to turn off her brain.
It's tough dealing with the morality issues related to telling the truth.Lol

This is the thing that Onfray (author of Atheist Manifesto) thought was so tragic about religious followers. It is like they waste their life trying to perform for their god like trained poodles. Perfectly healthy people can just squander their brief and precious lives away.
It is so sad to watch.
