More religious idiocy
Submitted by Abu Lahab on April 23, 2010 - 11:52pm.Iranian cleric Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi caused outrage and raised eyebrows around the world last week when he blamed earthquakes on scantily clad women rather than the movement of the earth's tectonic plates.
Now women are being urged to put that theory to the test by donning low cut tops and short shorts on Monday April 26 to see if they can spark a tremor.
The campaign to trigger a 'Boobquake' was begun by American student Jennifer McCreight who has so far got 40,000 people to sign up to the idea on a special Facebook page (where another 150,000 have been invited) and has attracted a large following on Twitter.
She decided to take action after reading Sedighi's comments last Friday, when he told a prayer meeting: "Many women who do not dress modestly... lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes."
He went on to ask. "What can we do to avoid being buried under the rubble? There is no other solution but to take refuge in religion and to adapt our lives to Islam's moral codes."
Yeah, there are other solutions. Put down the quran and pick up some science text books, you imbecile.

A single base strand of DNA for all organisms proves creation by design
DNA is a code any code has to be written it obviously cannot evolve in code form.
End of thread if you want it explained in full, PM I would be glad to explain but its
be done to death on here before so lets not bore the forum again.
And by the way unlike some I dont just say anything is bollocks without having looked in to it and studied it for years, But thats just me.
This chap is serious, too. He goes on to add:
Because I have researched and studied the fossil records.
Researched and studied The Geologic column and the geologic strata in the ground.
Researched and studied Micro and Macro evolution.
Researched and studied Archaeology, Etc,Etc
So after studying it you make a intellectual decision to which is truth Creation or Evolution.
There is thousands and thousands of years of evidence for us to do this with.
If people wouldnt have studied and looked at things we wouldnt have had all the major breakthroughs
in history they could have just been like you and said oh fuck it we cant find anything.
You can stand by anything you like mush I know what I beleive and it aint what somebody told me.

Church of England to recall thousands of vicars
Submitted by Abu Lahab on February 14, 2010 - 3:44pm.The Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams said there were technical faults with some baptisms conducted between 2006 to 2008, which could lead to conflicts of morality later in life.
He told reporters, “The risk of any problem with your baptism is slim, but we take the safety of the eternal souls of our believers extremely seriously, so the recall was the only realistic option available to us.”
Though the number is small, the move is unlikely to play out well for the Church, whose assets value just £4.4bn after the recent £400m sale of its faith-funded properties.

The Smolin Solution - Big Bang Theory Quantum shenanigans
Submitted by Abu Lahab on January 27, 2010 - 2:52pm.Hey clever chaps,
What would you say the Cliff Notes version of Smolin's theory on Time-Space, Big Bang etc would be?
The basis for the theory is the apparent need for the twenty or so parameters of the standard model to be fine-tuned to an incredible degree of accuracy over a huge range of magnitudes, so that life, the Galaxy and the Universe can exist at all. It is widely believed that our Universe contains a huge number of black holes whose interiors correspond to unobservable regions. According to general relativity, all matter inside the black hole collapses to a point singularity. Smolin argues that quantum effects may come into play to remove this singularity and the collapsing black hole "bounces" back into an expansion. Smolin suggests that inside each black hole is a new expanding Universe with black holes. He then assumes that the twenty-odd parameters of the standard model change a little bit at each bounce and, as in Darwinian evolution, the "fitness landscape" of all possible universes evolves until universes in which the parameters correspond to a state of maximal black hole production predominate.
I stole this from a website, anyone have anything better for debating theists and their need to debunk Big Bang?

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 20 — Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today claimed the 9/11 attacks in the United States, that killed nearly 3,000, was staged as an excuse to “mount attacks on the Muslim world”, saying killing as an excuse for war is not new to the US.
The former prime minister also argued that Israel was created to solve the “Jewish problem” in Europe, saying the Holocaust had failed as a final solution against the community.
“In September 2001, the World Trade Centre was attacked allegedly by terrorists. I am not sure now that Muslim terrorists carried out these attacks. There is strong evidence that the attacks were staged. If they can make Avatar, they can make anything,” said Dr Mahathir during his speech at the General Conference for the Support of Al-Quds here. Al-Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem.
“Killing innocent people to provide an excuse for war is not new to the US. But whether the real or staged 9/11 attacks have served the United States and Western countries well. They have an excuse to mount attacks on the Muslim world,” he added.
Alrighty then......

More Bias In US Against Muslims Than Other Faiths - Gallup World Religion Survey
Submitted by Abu Lahab on January 22, 2010 - 3:10pm.More Bias In US Against Muslims Than Other Faiths
Americans are more than twice as likely to express prejudice against Muslims than they are against Christians, Jews or Buddhists, a new survey found. Nearly two-thirds of Americans say they have little or no knowledge of Islam. Still, a majority dislike the faith.
The analysis, for release Thursday, is from the Gallup World Religion Survey and is part of a project on finding ways to increase understanding between Americans and Muslims.
President Barack Obama and his administration want to improve America's image in the Muslim world. Many analysts who study extremism also say that U.S. Muslims who feel alienated from broader society resist integrating, potentially becoming more vulnerable to radical ideas.
In the poll, just over half of Americans said they felt no prejudice against Muslims. However, 43 percent acknowledged at least "a little" prejudice against Muslims, a significantly higher percentage than for the other four faiths in the survey.
About 18 percent of respondents said they had some level of prejudice against Christians, while the figure was 15 percent toward Jews and 14 percent toward Buddhists.

“Can you tell us how these radical Islamic organizations interface directly with the Federal Government in terms of the Defense Department, in terms of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, uh, local law enforcement, how exactly do these radical Muslim groups use their connections to suppress the defenses of the United States against these types of activities?”
Former Special Agent FBI:
“That’s a great question. At the National level, with the FBI and DHS, they actually, they are invited in by General Counsel’s office of the FBI and DHS to sit in on brain storming about investigative techniques that our FBI agents are using out in the field."

KAMPALA, Uganda – A Ugandan lawmaker on Friday refused to withdraw proposed legislation that would impose the death penalty for some gays and lesbians despite international condemnation and presidential opposition to a measure that could scare off foreign investors.
Only the well-dressed ones, sweetie.
How about you let gay people lead their lives and just concern yourself with raising happy children, not the phantom of homosexual recruitment in schools.

Oh, and while I'm bitching about tard-headed thinking...
South Africa is the only country that allows gay marriage. However, some South African groups have rejected homosexuality as "un-African" and gangs carry out so-called "corrective" rapes on lesbians. A 19-year-old lesbian athlete was gang-raped, tortured and murdered in 2008.
