Giving Granny The God Delusion
So my granny was bugging me today about the usual crap, going to church and all that. She has some stupid book she wants me to read, chock full of "scientific evidence" for god. Anyway, after she wouldn't take no for an answer I agreed to read her book if she would read "The God Delusion". I wonder if I'll get it back.

How could you? We get our morals from GOD.
Without the fear of Hell and promise of Heaven, Granny is going to go on cross country murder spree. You need to post her picture on America's most wanted before she finishes the book.
Taxation is the price we pay for failing to build a civilized society. The higher the tax level, the greater the failure. A centrally planned totalitarian state represents a complete defeat for the civilized world, while a totally voluntary society represents its ultimate success. --Mark Skousen
Was this book by any chance The Case for Faith/Jesus/Stupidity? Sigh I wish I could give my family members a copy of TGD.
Psalm 14:1 "the fool hath said in his heart there is a God"-From a 1763 misprinted edition of the bible
Argument from Sadism: Theist presents argument in a wall of text with no punctuation and wrong spelling. Atheist cannot read and is forced to concede.
If your grandmother loses her belief in hell, how will her remaining life have any meaning?
The name of the book is "The Secret of the Universe" by Nathan R. Wood. It's pretty old and out of print, she had it copied and it looks like a pad of paper. It would probably be more useful it were a pad of paper.
If fear of hell is what gave her life meaning, then it wasn't much of a life I guess. I was impressed with the way she reacted when she got the book. We had lunch and talked and she even conceded some arguments. She is wealthy and powerful, at least by South Carolina standards, so she isn't used to being confronted much. She didn't flip and go into christard mode once. I think as long as the conversation stays cool this will go well. There will be a lot of SOL preachers if she becomes rational and leaves her money to something worthwhile. It's ok to dream lol.
Christians claim that Jesus gave our lives meaning by making a way to enter heaven. The Jews didn't have a hell belief before the time he supposedly lived, however, so why don't christians credit Jesus' doctrine of hell as the other major component of the meaning system?
