Atheist Art
Institutional Jesus
As an artist. and an atheist, here's a little contribution from the field of the arts. A caricature. A collage, with a little bit of 3DSMax colorisation and image treatment.
Anybody else with an artistic bent? I'd love to see it.

He definitely looks like he's crazy, or a pedophile.
I made him look very satisfied of himself, and greedy. He's been at the service of the powerful few, helping them maintain their domination over human masses for centuries. Using books, improbable tales and institutions.
I guess that could all apply to pedophiles...
And I don't think he even existed for real, most probably an invention.

All my "art" came from a very dark time in my early teenage years as I finally started grappling with the idea of religious beliefs being real. I don't think any of it has survived. I highly doubt I would post it anywhere if it did.
Enlightened Atheist, Gaming God.
I'm doing a series of cartoony stuff right now, so I'll probably post each one I finish (I'm tasking myself to do one per day; working out so far) in this thread, instead of driving DG nuts cycling through my avvie all the time.

On the topic of Atheist art, there's an Atheist Pool On Flicker- phptos, finds, artworks, and of course people.
Some of it might be offensive and some irrelevant to this group, but have a look.

and let's not forget about the Kirk-a-duck...

Ha! - Great concept.
We need more proofs like that to show that evolution really occured. It give s me an idea (thanks Ivon) and I might try to provide one of my own... yeah, I'll work up something for sure!

"The Beast" really running human affairs is greed. The greed of the greedyest or that of the luckyest... Well done, you should (if not yet) set-up a Flickr account and show your work there. There are a few pools related to atheism and rational thinking that might enjoy your art.

We could always start a PhotoShop thread and have anyone and everyone who knows PhotoShop create their own "Transitional Species According to Kirk".
Free your mind.
A litttle while back, on Twitter, Michael Nugent, who hosts an atheist blog on Atheism, Happiness and Life suggested the idea of creating a visual symbol for Atheism.
There are already existing icons on the web representing atheism or certain aspects of the worldview, the FFS, Dawkins' A, the Skeletal Fish and others. But it started me thinking and I came up with the above design and the following argumentation:
My proposal for an Atheist Logo:
1 - Since everything either spirals in or out in this Universe, here's the Spiral.
2 - It also represents a Birdsnake, a fantasy hybrid link between reptiles and volatiles. Evolution.
3 - It has an organic sketchy-like irregular rendering, indicating the finest any (known) given star can produce: Life.
4 - Also suggests a galaxy... of like-minded thinkers.
Any opinions or suggestions?

Carmakers' executive greed?
The Beliephant, a suggestion of name for those who really make Big Time profits by making the masses believe in irrational imaginary things.
Collage of a found picture (still from a D movie, most probably, I can't recall) with currency and religious symbols.

I drew this funny picture of conjoined twins. Maybe it's not really funny, it's probably just kind of gross, but I thought it was funny. If you have conjoined twins in the family sorry for ya.

Here's a little collage I made on that theme: Examining Her Beliefs
The caption goes:

I love the spiral. Of course, that's because of TTGL I think.

Theism is why we can't have nice things.
I'm not familiar with anime though (I love the esthetics and specially the calligraphy) , so I don't get the reference. But I'm glad you liked the spiral.

Here's a new piece I cooked up during the weekend:
The hidden best, brightest and richest present The Profiteers, using lies, greed, power to exploit your own superstitions, beliefs, faiths, self-delusions.

What do you think? Spread it around if you see fit!

To be witty it needs to be spelt "propheteers".
Otherwise it's just accusing them of being out to make financial profit alone.
I would rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy
That was the idea. Most people on top of the human social "food chain" are there to maintain and increase their financial power. The Prophet part is just instrumental to them, it keeps the masses where they belong - in delusion and ignorance about the real workings of society - so that the profit-reaping social order remains what it is.

There is no evidence for hell after this life.
During this lifetime however, it's another story.
