 Unless my memory is

Unless my memory is failing me completely, dolphins have also exhibited self-recognition.

It seems like every few months, there's a new finding about just how un-different we are from other animals.  It's a damn shame we're so good at driving the really cool ones extinct.

PBS aired several programs

PBS aired several programs on intelligence in animals.

In one of the programs it was found that chimps could add numbers (I think up to ten), using the symbols we use for integers.

Unlike the ancient Greeks, chimps also demonstrated an understanding of zero, as well.

Soz... but it uld take me a month to get a reference for youto that specific program... most likely it was a NOVA Nature production.

BTW. It also showed a young chimp exposed to a mirror for its first time, and the viewer could unmistakeably recognize the very momentum the young chimp realized it was seeing itself. Truely a remarkable discovery to witness.
