Will Christian or Islamic physics emerge?
Stephen Hawking's upcoming book "The Grand Design" will no doubt be a fantastic read and is due out in bookstores in a week. The world's most eminent physicist explicitly states that no God was required when the universe came into being. Because of the law of gravity, it spontaneously emerged:

I have no doubt that the fundies will put forth intelligent design theories of the universe. That they will mandate 2 separate theories of gravity in high school texts with one requiring a designer. Or they may deny gravity altogether and hopefully step out of a flying Boeing 747. Yes, gravity like evolution will be regarded as a secular social construct that should be removed to make way for the true physics as foretold in the Bible and the Koran.
Can't wait to read Hawking's book.
