Glen Beck's Three G's.

Glen Beck 3G's

Yet another controversy appears to be brewing around Fox News host Glenn Beck. Some are accusing him of a blatant conflict of interest concerning his frequent on-air promotion of an investment sold by one of his main advertisers: Gold.

For some time Beck critics have cried foul over his relationship with Goldline International, a precious metals vendor that features the TV and radio host's endorsement prominently on their website. Critics charge that Beck is guilty of misleading his audience by oftenadvising them to purchase gold in advance of the potential collapse of the value of the dollar on the world currency market, without disclosing that he is in fact "a paid spokesman" for Goldline. Beck's on-air promotion of gold, which includes advising viewers to construct 'fruit cellars' and to rely on a "three G system" of "God, Gold, and Guns" in the event of America's collapse, dates back to his time as a host for CNN Headline News.

I thought it was the 5G's? You know? God, Guns, Gold, Ganja and Giggity!

Am I wrong?

Thanks for the assist, Glen Beck. The ranks of the enlightened Atheists will swell.

EXC, why are you a perma-douchebag?

I mean, why do you leap to conclusions about everything?  Oh, I answered that in the subject line.  Never mind.

There's already laws on the books against false advertising. If you have a case take it to court. This does not justify censorship of an entire network.

Richard Dawkins goes on news and commentary shows and tells people that atheism is better and the world is better of without religion. Does he need to be silenced because he's also selling books on atheism that make him money? Perhaps his only motivation is to make money selling books.

Quite the opposite. I simply have no patience for opinion columnists who say they're reporting news, which is false advertising.

"There's already laws on the books against false advertising. If you have a case take it to court."

That's for you Americans to do... some day... when truth matters more to them than propaganda.

"This does not justify censorship of an entire network."

I don't want them censored, I want them to stop calling opinion news.

"Richard Dawkins goes on news and commentary shows and tells people that atheism is better and the world is better of without religion."

Until fox starts reporting more news than opinion, it's perfectly reasonable to counter their opinions with other opinions.
Commentary is obviously different, that's made for opinions.

Does the same go for MSNBC and their opinions? They too have a conflict of interest, advocating for socialized medicine when GE medical can make more money by having the tax man transfer more wealth to them.

The same goes for all of them. I don't hear much from or about msnbc, so I'm in no position to mention them.

Wouldn't help to go to court. There's legal precedent from a case in 2000 that allows the media to lie.

As I recall, that affiliate got their news feed from Fox News.

Then again, EXC, you're problem with Fox News is that they're too liberal, right?

So what good does it do to pass a law outlawing Fox News if the courts won't enforce it?

Actually, that they are too status quo. You don't see anyone on Fox advocating for what I want. But then all the media left and right want us to be slaves to conformity.

Really?

They advocate small government, tax cuts/elimination (especially for the wealthy) and privatization of just about everything (among other things).

I thought they'd be making your libertarian/anarcho-capitalist heart go pitter pat.

No! What opposition should do is COMPETE!

Their Bush cum swallowing propaganda is HOLLOW. But the free market can as well put forth TRUTH. Oppression will  not win.

Shut down why? Because they market bullshit? So does McDonnald's in "Im loving it:" with their artery clogging deep fried bullshit.

They do need to be shut down. But not via force, BUT through the very same free market they masturbate over.

I get so sick of atheist and liberal Christians crying political correctness, when all it takes to defeat idiocy is a mirror and ridicule,

I'm for getting rid of privatization of natural resources. I'm against income and sales taxes for everyone. Seems like they are pretty much for the status quo(i.e. welfare, pork barrel spending and all kinds of 'rights' for the rich and poor as a political payoff).

I don't think I fit into any catagory except unabashed hedonist. Having other people get 'rights' as my expense(money and liberty) gets in the way of this. Why do you think the left doesn't want to make you their slave just like the right?

Here's the latest issue

Here's the latest issue about Fox News host Glenn Beck. His name is being linked to Goldline scam Goldline, a gold vendor, endorses Glenn Beck in his programming.Beck and Goldline seem to be taking advantage of the concerns people have had about keeping their U.S. dollars instead of switching for gold. However, as blogs like Mediaiteand The Big Picture report, Goldline International is currently under legal investigation for its business practices. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office explains that Beck isn’t a part of the investigation although Fox News doesn’t like another sponsor of “The Glenn Beck Show”.

The proof is here: Is Glenn Beck sponsor Goldline cheating consumers?

 Who cares if Glenn Beck

Who cares if Glenn Beck listeners are being ripped off? Since when was it against the law to overcharge? From what I understand no one is accusing Goldline of not sending people the gold they paid for. If you invest in gold and lose your money its your fault not the company that sold you the gold. And if you really want to go after a company ripping people off go for the "food insurance" company Beck advertises for they sell freeze dried meals you can get at any outdoor store for three times the cost. But when selling to people who have more money than sense....
