If I were a chimpanzee
Speak ain't easy
when I try to convey my deepest feelings
and I don't believe in my own monogamy
I love so many so deeply
that I am in constant pain.
I wish that when I cry out to God
God would answer back
so that I could be what they all say he wants me to be.
But I am not, and doubt that I will ever be,
anything other than me.
If I were a chimpanzee, I'd be the kind that rubs another
and not the kind that plans out wars...
but I am of a type that relates to them
and war and love mix to shake up our lives.
Evolution makes wonderful sense, even for this lover of God
I wish that more Christians would get this
and stop accusing science of trying to take their love away...
I think that "Satan" in Christian form is one of the scariest images I've seen.
But this is how it has always been

that truth is sought and
just maybe, this universal struggle
to separate ourselves from the monkeys
but connect with them as well
is just my imagination playing games with me.

There are millions (more like billions?) of poems and writings and paintings and art in general praising god, Jesus, Mary and stuff... I have an idea, if there are any artistic people here, could we make a subforum for them to express their atheism artistically, with poems, drawings, paintings and stuff? I don't mean pictures of Mohammad with a bomb on his head, but to show how the world can be beautiful without the ideas of a superintelligent supervisor, heaven and hell, etc...

I think that a subforum for skeptic art would be wonderful. Though, I'm not sure what you are asking of me...if you are asking me to create such a subforum, I am absolutely ignorant as to how to do that; if you are asking me if I would be willing to post or help in anyway, I am more than willing to do what I am able. (I am sorry if I misunderstood your question in any way.)
