I honestly don't think it is a trait of being a christian that makes them prone to such things.  Just look at all the other jobs notorious for being taken by kiddy fiddlers, it is more of the persons desires either conciously or subconciously taking them down that path.  Maybe in the case of catholic priests they think getting closer to god will help them deal with their desires, but the abstinence and close quarters to children just makes the temptations so much worse.

They are simply bad people who have taken these roles or jobs and given them bad names.  This won't stop me giving catholics shit for it though, it's fun.  More importantly, they handle it in such bad ways - covering it up, relocating and sweeping it under the rug rather than dealing with the person properly.

 I've known alot of women who were molested as children.  I would say from my experience that the proportions must be epidemic.  

  It seems like there are usually christians involved, but maybe that's because of the high percentage of christians in my area.

 (maybe child molestation is common in other groups too.  I don't know.)

Add to the fact that if they weren't nutty Xian's before jailtime, they'll be nutty ones by the time they get out. I've met people who were only mildly annoying Xian's before jailtime. A bit of time in jail/prison, and they come out thinking they are better than me because they are "saved", even while they are lighting up a fucking crack pipe.

So it's not that they are Xian's that make them kiddy diddlers. It's that the prison systems are run by the brainwashing religionists. 

In my opinion i have always thought that pedophiles see children as a sexual object because there vulnerable and fragile. Pedophiles like the feeling of being in control and they can manipulate children much more easily. And again in my opinion i believe that's the same reason a lot of priests become priests. Because it puts them in the position of power over the emotionally ( or intellectually ) weak and easily manipulated.

I think all sexual predators seek the weak and get off on the power they feel when they damage the victim's pride.
