Atheist vs. Theist
why i believe
Submitted by JesusLovesYou on October 14, 2012 - 12:22pm.From the very first week of existance God established MARRIAGE. He made Adam, and saw he was helpless, so from Adam God created Eve. Not as his servant, but as his partner-in-crime, his helper, his confidant. Im sure most of you are atheists partly because some "power-hungry" men in the past oppressed women in the name of the Lord.....BUT they Bible has nothing of the sort.....
Anyway, God created marriage between a MAN and a WOMAN as a direct example of Christ's relationship to the church. The church is the bride of Christ. The church is not a building....the bible definition of church is the body of believers. The Bible says that husbands are to love their wives as Christ loves the Church and gave Himself for it.
The wife in Song of Solomon 5:16 says "my beloved and my friend". Biblical marriage is not only a man and woman co-existing together, but its FRIENDSHIP. IMHO the straw that breaks the camel's back leading to divorce is LACK of FRIENDSHIP in marriages.
Proof That Heaven is Real - This Time From a Former Skeptic (no actual proof is to be found)
Submitted by TWD39 on October 10, 2012 - 10:53am.Most atheists will quickly write off all NDEs as lack of oxygen in the brain or some other bogus explanation.
Well here's a story that blows those theories out of the water. A neurologist had a NDE experience and fully believes that he visited the afterlife and heaven.
http://ncu9nc.blogspot.com/2012/10/neurosurgeon-dr-eben-alexander-heaven.html
Here are the important factors to note in the story:
1. Dr. Eben is a highly educated neurologist, someone who is an expert on the brain yet he can not find a scientific explanation.
2. The cortex was shut down completely during his experience. His brain would have been incapable of generating thought or visual experiences
3. Dr. Eben was a former skeptic who once believed that there was a medical explanation for NDEs.
If you doubt his credentials, here they are:

This story is now being reported on several news sites and made the cover of this week's Newsweek.
What are some arguments against the idea of reincarnation?
Submitted by Chelle21689 on October 3, 2012 - 2:34pm.Other than “there’s no scientific proof” or “it’s not in the bible” what else is there? If that is your answer please try to explain in detail why you don't believe it is possible other than giving me a vague answer.
I’m agnostic but after much reading I’ve concluded that I am beginning to believe the possibility of consciousness existing after our body has died. Reading further, many people give convincing ideas that reincarnation does happen but the only problem with it is I HATE the concept.
I don’t want to start all over a new life, I don’t want to be a different person, I don’t want to forget the ones I love, I like who I am and I don’t want to change. If I’m in a better state why would I go back to some planet/dimension where pain, suffering, and such exists? Some people who believe in reincarnation say it’s possible my husband may come back as my son in another life….WEIRD O.o
The reason I find it convincing is because in documented near death experiences, some people have been able to describe particular instruments physical design in detail without ever seeing it. Keep in mind they are unconscious. Some scientists have a theory that our energy lives on and that’s one explanation. Believers in reincarnation keeps science in mind with energy is not created nor destroyed but transferred thus transferred in a different body.
The Christian & Atheist Moral Guide Is The Same
Submitted by ex-minister on September 26, 2012 - 1:51am.I have been a fan of Pat Condell for years on youtube. He usually talks about Islam's horrible effect on England. So for those who think atheists only pick on Christianity they should watch him.
This one was about the bible as a necessary moral guide for Christians and was particular good.

Women. God’s afterthought and man’s curse to rule.
Submitted by Greatest I am on September 7, 2012 - 10:32pm.Women. God’s afterthought and man’s curse to rule.
I think it quite ironic that God, who tells us to reproduce as his first commandment to man in Genesis 1, does not give us something to reproduce with till Genesis 2; 18. Further, only after a severe chastisement without correction, even to death, an immoral concept, after we ate of the tree of knowledge, are men given what is required for reproduction; the desire and mental capacity to do so.
God never tells Adam why he is being chastised. This is an expression of hate on God’s part because there is no evil in wanting to become as God as scriptures urge us to do. Note here that I take the Jewish view of our elevation in Eden and not the fall interpretation that Christianity mistakenly puts on it.
Chastisement without correction is just cruelty and thus unjust on God’s part. That is the message of Eden. God is unjust. If so, the inequality built into the bible, where men are cursed to rule over women, ----- is unjust.
Genesis 3;16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
As a man, I am not pleased that God has cursed my fellow man to have to suffer ruling over women. To rule over women is to be responsible to them and their demands. I think we should stop being slaves to women and give them full equality.
Why do athiest' care?
Submitted by amp1022 on September 5, 2012 - 2:49pm.I have a question for all atheist'. What is the point in your life without a higher power? I don't mean it as an insult, but as a sincere question. What is the point in arguing against a religion that you believe is just as fictional as harry potter or star wars? Why do you care if a televangelist takes an old lady's social security check? If we all are here by chance, or whatever you want to call it, then who cares what anyone does? In a million years none of us will exist, there will not even be a memory of an old lady or her money. If only the physical exists, then the past does not exist. Your memories are just information stored in the grey matter encased in your skull. Anything anyone did yesterday, good or bad, means absolutely nothing today, because even those affected by it will soon cease to exist and the memory will be deleted and there will be no reward or justice of any kind.
If you are right, then there is absolutely no reason to even try to behave with any kind of morality, because its completely relative. If a man feels good about forcing himself on a woman, then who can tell him that is wrong? He is just a walking, talking assemblage of meat and bone, interacting with another assemblage. Why would it matter what kind of interaction takes place? If a man believes that he should murder a million people because it is right to him, then who are you to say it is immoral? It would only be immoral to you and the morals that you chose for yourself, not to him and the morals he chose.
