RRS's Youtube channel being suspended
Submitted by criticalThinkingFTW on March 27, 2009 - 1:17am.Hi. I have been watching the videos from your channel on Youtube from time to time and found them to be very educational. But recently I have found that your Youtube channel ( previously http://www.youtube.com/user/RationalResponse ) has been suspended. To my knowledge the videos don't contain any copyrighted material and yet for some reason it has got suspended. So it would be nice if you could tell me an alternative video site from which I can get to watch the RRS videos.
Thanks in advance and keep up the good battle promoting rational thinking.
Best,

The President's Commencement Controversy
March 24, 2009 2:47 PM
Huma Khan-->ABC News' Barry Freeman reports:
President Barack Obama, it was announced Friday, will deliver the 164th commencement address at the University of Notre Dame.
Soon after the announcement, controversy arose from some Catholics who believe that Obama's views on abortion and embryonic stem cell research contradict the Catholic institution's beliefs and teachings.
History Lesson
Submitted by Apologist on March 20, 2009 - 5:05am.Is there historical and scientific proof of Jesus?
It is interesting that when people seek historic and scientific proof of Jesus, they immediately discount the Bible as a reliable source.
If we look at the Bible simply as a historic document, it should be among the most reliable on record compared with others.
Historians routinely cite Herodotus as a key source of information. He wrote from 488 B.C. to 428 B.C. and the earliest copy of his work comes from 900 A.D. (1,300 years later). There are only eight known copies of his work.
By contrast, the New Testament of the Bible (with all its information about Jesus) was written between 40 A.D. and 100 A.D. The earliest known copy is from 130 A.D. and there are 5,000 known copies in Greek, 10,000 in Latin and 9,300 in other languages.
Still, to put to rest the notion that there is no historic and scientific proof of Jesus outside the Bible, we may look to Jewish historian Flavius Josephus and to Roman historian Carius Cornelius Tacitus - both well known and accepted.
Josephus, in the book Jewish Antiquities" wrote:
Phallace wearing asshat weighs in on AIDS.
Submitted by Brian37 on March 17, 2009 - 7:42am.Pope Benidict (Been a dick? He still is a dick)
Anyway is opining up his pie hole weighing in on AIDS in Africa saying he wants to help stop the spread of AIDS in Africa. And exactly what is his solution? Use the epidemic to recrute new cult members while telling them not to use condoms and simply keep it in their pants.
The Superman expert also told us last year that god doesn't like road rage and wants us to learn to drive politely.
You live in a palace and sell the idea that a being with no penis magically got a girl pregnant and take gullible people's money while living a king's life. If you really cared about AIDS in Africa, sell the damned palace and give the proceeds to medical care and send doctors, build hospitals and send medication and sex education to Africa, NOT BIBLES!

Submitted by Brian37 on February 1, 2009 - 5:38pm.I know that it is perfectly legal in contracts to switch band members. But to see someone other than Steve Perry (in this case and Asian look alike, good singer, but not Perry) Anyway it was weird seeing someone other than Steve Perry sing that song "Don't Stop Believing".
For me it was like Van Halen replacing Roth with Hagar.
Dogs
Submitted by Dracos on January 30, 2009 - 10:48pm.A big thing in the paper in recent weeks has been about dogs around the trials about the city of Missoula, Montana. I have given this some thought. If you are jogging up a trail and you look behind you and see a pack of of dogs chargingup behind you , who would not be scared? If these are my dogs you should ignor them. They will ignor you. If you spray them them with poison they will be pissed off and so will I.
Guardian Angels
Submitted by EXC on May 27, 2008 - 11:31am.
Can anyone that understands the religious mind explain these pictures to me? I used to see these pictures all around my home and church when I was a kid. Are they telling me I can do whatever the fuck I want(like play around cliffs and walk over unsafe bridges) and not die cause I got a guardian angel? If I a child falls over a cliff and dies, does that just mean they had a angle that sucked? Why can't gawd just keep me from dieing if that's his will? Why does he need surrogates? Are guardian angels always blond chicks?
Where are the parents? Shouldn't the parents of these children be arrested for child endangerment and the children placed in foster care, instead of being used to promote religion?
Yoko Ono
Submitted by Boon Docks on May 22, 2008 - 8:34am.Has anyone seen Yoko Ono in news the news lately? I just saw an article about a new movie coming out, using some of John's lyrics, that Yoko did not give permission for. Just thought I'd open up that proverbial "can of worms".
