(If you don't believe Adam and Eve really happened, I'm not interested in your answer. I only want to hear from people who believe the creation story.)

God created man and woman, and put them in the Garden of Eden. He made them pure and innocent, without the knowledge of good and evil, and with no knowledge of death.

Then, a talking snake told them that they ought to eat this fruit that God had told them not to eat, and they did, and then God punished everybody. Forever.

AN OPRAH FIASCO

This will be a rather long item, but it deals with an important subject – how Oprah Winfrey manages to promote woo-woo ideas on her program by careful management of the content. Before we begin, you must understand how TV programs are recorded and put together for later broadcast. First and most important is the image of the host; this must be supported, and audience expectations must be met in that regard. Second, the sponsors must be satisfied that nothing unpopular or politically incorrect is used; that won’t sell the product. Third, secondary guests are expendable, and are there only to be used, in any way that serves the intent of the producers.

The Bible teaches us about Christ. “We learn what he did: he preached and taught, drew large crowds, performed miracles. It tells us that he was crucified, that he died, and that he rose from the dead. Some of the teachings most central to Scripture and to the Christian faith tell us of concrete historical events; they therefore tell us of the history and properties of things within the cosmos. Christ died and then rose again; this tells us much about some of the entities within the cosmos. You guys/gals know I love you and I'm praying for you...and you've maybe read some of my other posts - but listen... though you think I'm dim-witted and have some sort of brain illness, I am somewhat knowledgeable about my/our "illness" -- so listen: There is no "unpardonable sin" - no "sin" that will not be forgiven...

Stop looking for the verse reference and trying to find the "quote/reply" button.

I know the verse. I know the reference. I'm just saying, it's been taken out of context and context means "historical" as well as "grammatical"

Affirmative: Dr. Paul Herrick, Ph.D in Philosophy and Logic. Professor of Philosophy and logic at Shoreline Community College. Author of textbooks such as, "The Many Worlds of Logic." Author of the "Contra Carrier; Why Theism Is Needed To Make Sense of Everything," essay.

Negative: Samuel Thomas Poling. Champion of the MPHS high school debate tournament (best I got, sorry).

I've always said that the biggest argument against all religions together is the fact that they actually exist.

If possible, could anyone point me towards a list of currently active religions? A list as complete as humanly possible.

What I plan to do is to extend my sphere of research on the very general topic of "religious dogma vs. logic and argumentation". More precisely, I'm trying to demonstrate the fairly obvious: that all religions are mutually exclusive: if one isn't of that religion, sorry, no heaven.

Two reasons for this:
