The purpose of this entry, as the title states, is to introduce you to two contemporary articles that explain in fairly simple language how evolution is a fact and how creationism is the lie.

When I first decided to read more about evolution, these articles were tremendously helpful to me, and they really motivated me to learn more. I have decided to link them for anyone who is still uncertain about evolution and is looking for some literature that won't give them a reading headache.

1) 15 Answers to Creationist Nonsense (John Rennie)

This first article is from Scientific American (2002) and delivers exactly what its title suggests. You are given 15 of the most commonly offered arguments from creationists (and/or Intelligent Design advocates) and then swift, concise rebuttals. If you're straddling the fence about evolution, you may want to start here.

Has anyone had a problem getting his/her order of the "God Movie" (The God Who Wasn't There) as I have? I ordered a copy on 5/11 and never received it. My computer crashed and I lost the order information. Then on August 18th I ordered another copy...forgetting about my original order... and again I did not receive the DVD!!!!

I sent Paul Sapient (A co-founder of Rational Responders) e-mails both through My Space & RR and have not received a reply!!!

I lodged a dispute with PayPal asking that the 5/11 order be refunded and the 8/18 be processed.

If you are thinking about ordering the DVD ..WAIT until you see the results of my poll. If this blog disappears... RR has removed it.... If the problem is resolved.....I will post the information for you. COME ON, PAUL, GIVE ME MY CREDIT FOR THE FIRST ORDER AND SNED ME THE SECOND ORDER...... Otherwise, you will go to hell

For the rest of the month I will be posting on a regular three a week schedule, I may continue this trend next month, we'll see how it goes. So on every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday the newest editions will be up. Some of you may have noticed the counters at the bottom recently, with that I've been keeping track of how many and what days readers have been loging in to read the newsletter, and the aforementioned days seem to be the most popular, counts on Friday and Sunday being especially high. However, the reason for the newly placed regularity is two-fold. The other reason is to better manage my time, since I will be going on vacation from the 27th to the 5th, and there is much to do in the interum in preparation. In the time I will be gone, there will be no newsletter posts (I'm sure you can all manage, lol) so I encourage you all to browse through the previous editions, as I'm sure there are many of you who haven't seen them all. While I'm gone, any questions, contributions, or comments you have will be fielded by my good friend and helper Adrian (a.k.a. Skeptictank, a.k.a. Freudian slip n' slide). There are quite a few people, both inside and outside the RRS ranks, involved in this project. Most noteably are prominent Youtubers Rabid Ape, Thunderf00t, Christopher Boe (the man responsible for the animation in the video for evryones favorite song, Tribute to Kent Hovind, a.k.a. Your a Fucktard), as well as the writer/performer of said song, Eddy Goombah, and the webmaster to a Way of the Master watchdog site who also keeps close tabs on the Hovind clan and CSE. The latest victim of the compaint happy CSE appears to be the Rational Response Squad, too!

The proverbial "wasp nest" has been smashed, and and the residents are pissed! Many lawsuits will ensue, to be sure. If you would like to help out, forward the following message to:

If I have an infinitely large bag and I take on a series of steps. Step 1 consists of adding 10 ping-pong balls, numbered 1 through 10, then removing ping-pong ball number 1. Now, to the crux of critical thinking -- Reason. Simply put, reasoning is the process of inferring conclusions from premises. These premises can be evidence in any of the forms we examined previously, or they can be intermediate conclusions based on this evidence. We say that a conclusion has a degree of cogency based directly on the combination of the premises and the reasoning. This is somewhat different from syllogistic logic, but it is absolutely dependent on it. In critical thinking, we can examine questions which may not have syllogistic certainty, essentially using syllogisms to form strong premises, and then using other statements with a high degree of cogency to link them together in what we can rightly call a proof.
