It works for me!

Faith in Jesus works for me - it's exciting.  I love the Bible and believe all of it - though there is mystery.  There is mystery everywhere though, right?  I am a incredibly happy believer in Jesus.  I'm not a theologian, I just believe in Jesus.

I understand you can't make anybody believe in Jesus and the Bible, and I don't personally try to do that.  But I highly recommend it from my experience with it.  I can't get enough of the Bible or Jesus.  I can't imagine trying to navigate through life without it at this point in my life.

I don't think Jesus or God is a thing you can prove to somebody.  I heard about it a large percentage of my life and it didn't mean anything to me until a certain point - then that all changed.

So do you guys think that I'm fooling myself, not really happy, you don't believe me, or do you really think I can't be as happy or enlightened as you - are you evangelistic in that sense or what?  What is the purpose of this site?   Do you have something better to offer?  If so, what is your gospel?

You know, I think it's about time you realise that, at this point in your current thread, absolutely no-one has any idea what you think you're talking about anymore.

Fonzie,

Answering simple and straightforward questions is easy to do.  You outdo yourself by consistently refusing to do so.

Brave words from a guy who worships a torture/execution device more than the God that was supposedly placed on it. You and Ciarin have a lot more in common than you realize - Odin likes crucifixions also.

I haven't eaten spaghetti in forever. I usually eat vermicelli and linguine, and fettuccine. And I don't have a fork around my neck. It's usually a hammer or eormensyl.

As always, your questions are easily answered. (And my answer will be easily ignored, as always)

You see, Meph, what you are once again conveniently ignoring, is what came before those quotes you mined.

I'll repeat that, because you forgot it already : What you are once again conveniently ignoring, is what came before those quotes you mined.

In other words, when I call you a liar, I have facts to back up that accusation. (facts provided by you)

And when you accuse me, or tell other people here they're insects, or somehow related to the devil or whatever, you have none.

I'll repeat that : YOU HAVE NONE.

That's the difference.

And when you make personal remarks about people's pictures (something you've done before), you once again show that your dishonesty and pettiness is all you have.

Or would you like us to quote every unprovoked, bizarre and unsubstantiated remark you ever posted here ?

Hmmmmmmm ?

There you go. Any other questions ?

Well, we have this thread on this forum. It's called "it works for me". You should read it.

If you do, you'll find you've had many, many conversations about biblical inaccuracies  (with JCGadfly and PJ, to name but a few).

Funnily enough....those conversations always ended with you ignoring their arguments, and you jumping on to the next guy....as if nothing ever happened.

I guess B166ER has not yet had the honor of jumping through your hoops.

Okay then, let's have chapter 2000whatever in this farce :

Pretend you care what he has to say for long enough to squeeze out another sermon or two.

Then, depending on your mood, you'll either thank him for the effort or throw some religiously inspired insult at him.

And then you can forget everything he told you, and ask the very same question again to the next guy who comes along.

The endless thread, fueled by the kindness of strangers.

You're either completely shameless, completely clueless or both.

No, there I describe my puzzlement at your ability to recall being called "completely insane", and your utter failure to remember why I called you that in the first place.

You have an extraordinarily selective memory.

Half the posts in this thread seem to make you temporarily blind.

Fonzie wrote:

Sweetheart, I've been practically begging you to answer a question I asked you about a year ago.

I've been re-re-re-re-posting things you said that you apparently don't care to remember saying.

ALL of that is "what has come before".

And who exactly has been happily ignoring that for, literally, years ?

Hmmmmm ?

Fonzie wrote:

What you decide in the comfy privacy of your imagination has no effect on reality.

I'm sorry if that annoys you.

Describe what as "convenient" ?

You really need to remember that we're not privy to what goes on in your imagination, so please explain what you're talking about.

Thanks.

Fonzie wrote:

Going completely by your posts alone, what I am learning is that religion can't work without deceit and dishonesty.

You're making that point rather agressively.

Fonzie wrote:

I never asked you about the "knowledge of god". I asked you why you lied when I asked you about your first thread.

You practiced to decieve, which doesn't exactly make you an expert on "knowledge of god", now does it ?

Fonzie wrote:

I'd rather have some spaghetti, thanks. You and your fantasy creatures can keep your lies.

All I want to know is why you're so desperate to deny something you already indirectly admitted.

So I'll give you yet another chance : Did you make the "WHAT FAITH YOU" thread ?

For once, try to answer honestly.

I promise, it won't hurt

Talking to this guy is like:

Interesting bit of irony, fonzie/meph.

You believe that God loves us and wants us to be better than we are. Yet you, as an exemplar of God to us, treat us like crap by lying to us and being condescending toward us.

It makes me think of Jean as a far more honest Christian. He knows God is a dick and has no issue about being one to other people.

Yes, your imagination is a wonderful place. The word "poop" seems to have set it in motion yet again.

Other words, such as "could you please answer the question", seem to inspire you a lot less.

I'll repeat the question that seems to frighten you more than your imaginary hell itself :

Was it you who made the "WHAT FAITH YOU" thread ?

(allthough I guess that would be the "what faith you" thread now, since someone decided to tone down the capitals)

His whole world and argument

His whole world and argument rotate around one object, his grand idea that he is "special". The idea that we are not god's special pet really infuriates him like a spoiled child.

Faith is the word but next to that snugged up closely "lie's" the want.

red,

It's non sequitur to you because you don't believe in God.  You don't accept the context of God existing for all time, creating the world we live in through Christ, for Christ, held together by Christ.  If indeed this is true you are living life without the context of God and Christ.  For you nothing is there - in your thinking past or present - concerning God.  You are on the stage of life without that context - and in my view the main context of life, and Life itself.  It is true.

So you are on the stage mouthing words that relate to nothing because you don't know what the play is about.  Worse yet you think you do.  You are being irrelevant about what IS (Christ is LORD).  You are ignorant about the thing you need to know most in this life - the Knowledge of God.  Yet you think you are wise.  How do you determine that - not with the context of the Word of God, that's not your context.  You have other means, other context.  I'm saying whatever that context is - other than God - is worthless.

Fonzie, it is non sequitur to avoid answering straightforward questions.  You don't accept the concept of being honest, held together by honesty.

So you are on the pharmacy counter mouthing words that relate to nothing because you won't answer straightforward questions.  You are being irrelevant.  You are ignorant about the thing you need to answer:

rob,

That's not true.  I don't deserve God's grace any more than you, likely less.  Paul would argue with us both, claiming himself to be the "chief of sinners" in all sincerity.  The idea that you might consider accepting God's Gift really infuriates your jail warden however.  Try applying your independent spirit to him and see what happens.....   You won't get away with it without the Key Keeper.

Yeah.....arguing about who's the biggest douchebag. Very productive.

Btw, is that in one of the bits paul actually wrote, or one the bits somebody else wrote for him ?

Okay, enough fun and games and world of warcraft, or whatever.

Could some halfway sane moderater please just give this guy his badge back ? Just to give people fair warning that he's not interested in a discussion ?

If not, then what exactly is the use of giving people troll badges in the first place ?

Seriously, why even bother with moderating at all ?

MAKING SPACE TRAVEL DULL - FAITH TRAVEL

robj101 wrote:

rob,

Yes, it's "faith travel".  Faith in God and Christ brings us front row to all the events in Scripture - I KNOW and believe they all happened as much if not more than if I had been there in person.  The eyes of faith allow "seeing" God "moving over the waters", turning the lights on, Israelites walking through the Red Sea on dry land, Elijah calling down fire - slaying the 400 false prophets, Jesus walking on water.  The eyes of faith enable seeing beyond the horizon of death - dimly but excitedly.

The greatest though is seeing the Sacrifice of the Lamb of God as foretold by Moses and the prophets, the mystery hidden for ages - the guarantee of all guarantees, the breaking of the trap of death, the enabling of receiving the new birth and the gift of the Holy Spirit which brings us into the Presence of Christ and God.  Now that's travel! - walking in faith with God and Christ!  All aboard!  (I wonder if Noah said that?  We're not told if the Ark had a horn...)

Scripture, oh you mean that book a bunch of lazy ass socialists wrote? Biggest joke in history. If there were a god he would probably be scratching his head wondering why the fuck anyone could believe a word in that pos.

J,

There are several efforts to escape from spiritual poverty true - wine, ignorance, unbelief, pleasure, do it yourself heaven, etc - all with their accompanying failures and vanities.  There is an end to the matter when all has been heard though - fear God and keep His Commandments.  This is the whole duty of man.

Wow, you just describe yourself perfectly. Jesus is pure escapism from the spiritual and moral bankruptcy you display as a badge of honor..
